Special: Transgender Day Of Remembrance

Every year, the number of murdered transgender people has steadily increased. On this special episode for Transgender Day Of Remembrance, Alisha takes a look at some of the heartbreaking statistics, explores local cases that have yet to be solved, and shares a little information about each of the 34 trans people that have been killed in the USA, just this year.

Dustin Parker, 25, was fatally shot in McAlester, Oklahoma, early on New Year’s Day. His employers released a statement shortly after his death, remembering Parker as “a steadfast friend, an amazing husband and father and generous to a fault. He loved fiercely, worked tirelessly and took on life with so much hope and enthusiasm that his presence brightened all of our lives.”
